PART FOUR:
TREK CONS: THE NEXT GENERATION

After the third season of Star Trek: The Next Generation in 1990, Star Trek exploded into mainstream acceptance and turned Trek into a worldwide phenomenon. Our conventions became a meeting place, not only for fans, but for the fascinated newcomer who learned to embrace, through the later Trek films, Deep Space Nine and Voyager that which we have all enjoyed for decades...

PATRICK STEWART,
the Shakespearean wonder who turned the whole world on to "making it so". Patrick's current plate includes the Moby Dick mini series, a crime flick called Dad Savage, and another Trek movie a year down the line. He's a gentleman and a huge talent.

PATRICK
...and his tight blue jeans.

JONATHAN FRAKES
...the man who turned down the Captain's chair on the Enterprise, is having his last laugh sitting in the directors chair instead. First Contact is Star Trek's most successful film to date, and partly so because of Jonathan's expert stewardship. Way to go, Jon!.

MARINA SIRTIS
...Counselor Troi, is always a much loved guest on the convention circuit, with a feisty attitude and great sense of humor.

JONATHAN & MARINA
...THE IMZADIS of ST:TNG fame, never got a chance to play out their back story. Maybe in the next film...

MAJEL & CAREL STRUYCKEN (MR. HOMM)
...stop by to visit Jon and Marina on stage. Mrs. Troi and Mr. Homm were a great pair.

MICHAEL DORN
...continues his pathway to destiny as glorious Worf, currently seen on DS9. A great character, Worf also appeared to great impact in First Contact. Michael's a great guy, too.

BRENT SPINER
...has been busy acting lately; we all loved his portrayal in ID4. Data remains one of the most enduringly popular Star Trek creations.

WIL WHEATON
...has returned to acting lately ,after a hiatus working on high tech computer projects. Wesley Crusher was one of the more controversial Trek characters, to be sure.

DENISE CROSBY
...enjoyed several incarnations on Star Trek, including Tasha Yar and her counterpart on Enterprise C, as well as the Romulan Sela. She's a great lady.

JOHN DE LANCIE
...is the notorious Q; we also loved him on Legend, and now he's the voice of Jonny Quest's dad. As co-executive producer of Alien Voices, John and Leonard Nimoy are producing great sci fi works for audio recording. Always a Creation fan favorite.

AVERY BROOKS
...was always a favorite of ours (Hawk!), and he has grown into his role of Commander Sisko, portraying many levels to the character.

CIROC LOFTON
...shines as Jake Sisko.

COLM MEANEY
...has tenured as Miles O'Brien on Trek for almost a decade now.

ARMIN SHIMERMAN & RENE AUBERJONOIS
...Quark and Odo, are the best of friends (adversaries), and talented actors of the stage and screen. Many fans remember Armin's turn as Pascal on Beauty and the Beast, and Rene of course is Chef Louis from Little Mermaid as well as from Benson.

MAJEL
...always mixes things up!

NANA VISITOR
...and Alexander Siddig recently had a baby, mirroring events on DS9.

ANDREW ROBINSON
...is wonderful as Garak, but how many fans remember him as the cuckolded boyfriend of Hellraiser?

KATE MULGREW
...in her first fan appearance at Grand Slam '96.

GARRETT WANG
...distressed her on stage as the dreaded "autograph hound".

AUCTIONS
...are a part of every Creation event.

COSTUME CONTESTS
...as well.

CONTESTANTS
...are often of professional quality.

KLINGON WEDDINGS
...are performed on stage from time to time.

JAY LENO
...even wants to get into the act with these Andorians.

GENE RODDENBERRY
...our late beloved Great Bird of the Galaxy, gets his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Gene was like a father to us at Creation; we'll always remember his kindness and wisdom with great affection.
