Lucy is a Starship Foundation board trustee and works hard each year to battle for sick children at the Starship Children’s Hospital in New Zealand.

As a Starship Foundation ambassador, Lucy lends her profile to benefit the thousands of sick patients who arrive at the Starship each year – often with life-threatening conditions.

She has fronted numerous campaigns close to her heart, including the Safe & Sound Appeal for abused children, which has helped our medical specialists join the Police and social workers in a new Multi-Agency Centre.

She has also appeared in television commercials promoting our cute $3 Star Bears on sale as part of our Annual Appeal, which this year will help complete the Starship Heart Unit.

Lucy is also often on hand to visit sick patients and their families in the Starship. The buzz she brings into the hospital each time is overwhelming. This included her visit to launch the 1999 annual appeal, when she was heavily pregnant with Julius, yet she stayed for more than four hours.
