2015 is certainly a transitional year for Star Trek, both the property and its millions of fans around the globe awaiting a brand new giant feature film for the 50th Anniversary year. For decades now we at Creation Entertainment, fellow Star Trek fans, have enjoyed presenting our Star Trek idols to the public. We were lucky enough to have Gene and Majel Roddenberry as mentors early in our careers and we learned a lot from them. Of course DeForest Kelly was a treasure and our time with him, a true Hollywood legend, remains vibrant as does our celebratory days spent in the company of James Doohan, Scotty, himself: lovable, irascible, talented, and hilarious! We made the decision to “lay low” in 2015 with Star Trek to prepare for the giant 50th Anniversary in 2016 where we’ll be most everywhere and we only kept two shows “alive” in 2015: Our famed Official Star Trek Convention in LAS VEGAS and Creation Entertainment Salutes Star Trek in Chicago. Why Chicago? Besides being a gloriously beautiful city in April, Chicago has always been a hotbed of Trek fandom, from the very early days. We knew that if we were going to do only one other non-Vegas Star Trek Convention it had to be CHICAGO, a place we always sell out and a place where every fan is so great!

We’ve put together probably our best guest list ever for the city, and with the famed “Creation Difference” every patron, no matter what type of ticket they purchase, is guaranteed a seat in the theatre. Our goal is to give YOU the absolute very best vacation we can and your support of the Chicago conventions means the world to us!

Captain Sulu from Classic Star Trek
Iconic genre legend George Takei returns to Creation Entertainment’s Salute to Star Trek and we couldn’t be more pleased to welcome George at the absolute height of his career as a performer and social activist! Best known for his role as Captain Hikaru Sulu on Star Trek, George is a multi-talented artist. He has graced books shelves with his book Oh Myyy!, taken Facebook by storm, appeared regularly with Howard Stern on his radio series, hit the stage with his super well received musical play Allegiance, and has done countless television and film work over the decades including recent voice over work with Avatar: The Last Airbender, Mulan and The Simpsons. George has also lent his voice to the Social Security Administration for a group of public service announcements.
GEORGE’S APPEARANCE DAY IS SUNDAY, JUNE 14. He will also be doing a limited number of autographs and photo ops on that day as well as noted below.

Colm’s extensive career credits on film and television include Law & Order, The Simpsons and he is currently starring in AMC’s Hell on Wheels. Colm will be with us Sunday. On the day of his appearance, he will be speaking, doing photo ops and signing autographs, including on a complimentary basis for our Gold and Silver Weekend Patrons! We are thrilled to welcome him to Chicago!

Armin will have a table in the Vendors room throughout the weekend, selling his autographs directly to fans for a nominal fee. Armin tentatively will appear on stage Friday.

Chase has most recently been seen Guest-Starring on CW’s The Flash and recently completed recording Season 3 of her Doctor Who Big Finish spin-off, VIENNA. Chase Founded the Pop Culture Anti-Bullying Coalition, the 1st-ever organization to make a stand at Trek cons & comic-cons against bullying, racism, misogyny and other human rights violations. Chase will do photo-ops & appear onstage on Friday to sing, and to discuss her groundbreaking work against bullying. 100% of the profits from Chase’s picture & CD sales will support her work with the Coalition.
Chase will have a table in our Vendors area throughout the weekend, offering her autograph directly to fans for a nominal fee. She will be appearing on stage and doing photo ops on Friday.
Richard Arnold
RICHARD ARNOLD
Richard Arnold is known as the world’s leading authority on all things Star Trek and is often turned to by researchers, reporters, authors and licensees when they need to know about the incredible almost 50 year Trek legacy. In addition, Richard served as Gene Roddenberry’s right-hand man for 15 years and was present during many of the most important and influential decisions involving Trek’s history. Finally, his decades long friendships with cast and crew members always make for entertaining lectures and discussions at our Star Trek shows.
At this particular convention along with other appearances, Richard will take part in our salute to his departed friend, and indeed friend to all of us, Leonard Nimoy, on Saturday.

JUNE 8, 2015: We have been notified that due to filming Karl Urban is unable to be with us at this convention. His spot in the program has been filled with Star Trek Enterprise stars Connor Trinneer and Dominic Keating, who will also be present throughout the convention in the vendors area to meet fans and offer their autographs directly, while also doing solo and duo photo ops. Those who already purchased solo KARL URBAN photo ops should hand those in at registration and receive a voucher which you can use for any other Creation tickets or merchandise. If you prefer you may send in THE VOUCHER for a refund back to your card, within one month of the close of the convention to Creation, 217 South Kenwood, Glendale, CA 91205. Attention: ED.

THE CREATION DIFFERENCE

Unlike so many other genre conventions, Creation Entertainment has a strict company policy not to "oversell" our conventions. In other words, every patron, no matter what bracket of ticket they purchase, will have a seat in the main auditorium where the major guests appear and events take place. Nothing upsets us more than hearing about other conventions that sell tickets to patrons and then those very same patrons have to wait on additional lines inside the facility to get into (or sometimes not!) the main theatre. An important Creation Entertainment difference we want you to know about!

The Creation difference extends to our 40 years experience in running fan conventions. In the last few years we've seen promoter after promoter fail taking hard earned ticket money down with them. Inexperienced promoters, often first-timers, use celebrity images and names to get ticket money which they use to hopefully pay their expenses. When that fails they've already gone through "your" ticket money and they collapse leaving no recourse for ticket holders. They say "buyer beware" but this has happened in Twilight, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, and Firefly fandom (to name just a few) and we really feel for those great fans who have lost their ticket money and upset travel plans.

We’ll be spending time over the weekend and also have a special panel of the amazing 20th anniversary of Star Trek: Voyager. Four of the stars of the series will be in attendance over the weekend of course and we’ll also have our own fond special look at the show.

Creation Entertainment joins the world in celebrating the life and legacy of Leonard Nimoy.

Leonard was much more than a brilliant actor, director, photographer, patron of the arts, renaissance man and philanthropist: he was a dear friend of ours, a man we could always count on to thrill and delight countless legions of devoted fans from around the world who flocked to see him at his many appearances for us over three decades.

His tireless energy, enthusiasm, charity, insight, wit and intelligence remain an inspiration to all of us here and to his devoted following around the globe. Our hearts go out to the extended Nimoy family and all his friends. Leonard will always live long and prosper in our hearts.

Our two Star Trek Conventions in 2015 in Chicago and Las Vegas are lovingly dedicated to the memory of Leonard Nimoy, the man who inspired generations of fans to go into the world of science and therefore his endless contributions will truly never end. We are proud to have called him our friend and business colleague for decades and in that vein we will present an audiovisual presentation and memories of the man and his career hosted by Adam Malin and Richard Arnold. Our proud achievement is the fact that hundreds of thousands of Mr. Nimoy’s worldwide fans had the opportunity to meet this gigantic talent in person at Creation Conventions. Utilizing rare photographs and production materials from the Papers of Nicholas Meyer collection at the University of Iowa Libraries, this presentation celebrates the amazing contributions of the talented and creative artists who created one of Star Trek's greatest films. Covering the making of the film from concept to screen, this informative talk includes amazing trivia and fun facts! Special thanks to writer and director Nicholas Meyer for permission to share this presentation. On Friday.

Star Trek: Voyager was a pioneering television show, one of the first science fiction programs to be made during the early days of the Internet era. From being one of television’s first big steps into the world of CGI special effets to its diverse and heroic characters, Voyager inspired and continues to inspire generations of viewers. Through rare photographs and research, learn about the facinating history of how the show was created and the “making of” details about popular episodes. Celebrate the contributions of the behind the scenes crew, artists and actors who helped make Star Trek: Voyager so special with this engaging presentation. On Saturday.

Collectibles of Enterprise: Continuing our series of collectibles talks! The crew of the NX-01 and the creative designs of the show Enterprise have been featured on many collectible items during the past 14 years. This presentation explores the history of Enterprise items - looking at action figures, autographed items, props replicas, uniforms, books, comics, soundtracks, and many other collectibles. Along the way, fascinating information about the making of show and the process of creating the collectibles will be shared. A look at un-produced and prototype toys will be also be featured! On Sunday.

STAR TREK MUSIC VIDEO COMPETITION

One of the coolest highlights of the convention in Jersey is the running of fan produced Music Videos honoring STAR TREK, its themes. legacy and characters. If you are a talented video editor now is your chance to show off your creativity and vie for prizes at THE OFFICIAL STAR TREK Convention Tour 2014.

Rules: one music video about STAR TREK may be submitted on DVD only (please no computer-based media like CD accepted). PLEASE USE ONLY NTSC FORMAT FOR YOUR DVD. Entries are judged on the following criteria: video quality, audio quality, editing quality, inventiveness, song selection, and originality. Humorous submissions are encouraged. Entries can not be returned, and person submitting entry is granting Creation the right to play this entry in perpetuity at Creation events worldwide and/or on line at the Creation website(s). Creation does not sell music videos so your entry will never be sold as a commercial product, just presented at our events/on line. (WE ARE PARTICULARLY INTERESTED IN VIDEOS SALUTING SOME OF THE SUPPORTING CHARACTERS AT OUR EVENTS SO WE CAN INTRODUCE THEM WITH VIDEOS, SO PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND! Autograph and Photo Op Tickets do not include admission to the convention. You must have an admission ticket for the convention in order to redeem autograph and photo op tickets. Photography is not allowed during the autograph sessions. One of the coolest things about the convention is the chance to get in person autographs on the item of your choice (you can bring something from home or purchase a photo or souvenir at the convention). At this particular show, due to popular demand, many of the stars will be present throughout the majority of the weekend, at tables in the vendors room, where you can purchase your autographs directly from them. WELCOME EVERYONE!
Thanks for being with us! We really appreciate your visit and want to make sure you have the absolute best time! With that in mind a few rules to keep everyone safe:

1) Please take photos from your seats only, do not rush the stage when guests appear. Also, please limit flash photography. Those with sensitivity to flash please be aware that it does occur in the theatre.
2) PHOTO OPS are done on a first come/first taken basis with any exceptions noted within this schedule, including Backstage VIPs who can go first. PLEASE be on time as they move very quickly and once the photo op session is over, we cannot repeat. “Special poses” are at the discretion of the actors. PHOTO OPS may be picked up in the photo op room when available, but not during a photo op session so we don’t interrupt the photographer. Full information on when photos will be ready for pick up is on a hand-out available in the photo op room. Personal photo-taking is not allowed in the photo op room at any time.
*We try our best to catch light glare on glasses, but it is extremely difficult to detect during the session. Please be advised that we cannot be responsible for glare if you choose to leave your glasses on in your photo.
3) Please have your items for signature out and ready during autograph sessions. Personalizations are at the discretion of the celebrities signing and/or may be affected by guest flights or other scheduling issues. You must bring something to have signed, either from home or an item purchased on site. Photo-taking of the celebrity guests during autograph sessions is not allowed.
4) Volunteers are here to help you and we thank them for doing so. However, if you have an issue with ANYONE or ANYTHING please let Adam or Stephanie know during the convention so they can help. They can’t help if you don’t tell us and they’re easy to find. Just ask!
5) Please sit ONLY in the seat you paid for.
6) At the request of our guests, ABSOLUTELY no video or audio capturing PLEASE!
7) Please turn cell phones off and kindly refrain from talking when theatre is active.
8) ONLY ONE QUESTION MAY BE ASKED TO A CELEBRITY BY A FAN. PLEASE NO PERSONAL STORIES ABOUT YOURSELF, ASKING FOR HUGS, OR TELLING THEM WHY YOU LOVE THEM (that’s why we’re all here!). And please, no BIRTHDAY requests! As you are representing all of us, kindly make your question a good well-thought-out one and perhaps something the guests have not been asked before. Please, if you are on the question line, stand all the way to the side against the wall as to not block the view of others who are seated.
9) If you have trouble standing let us know, if you are in a wheelchair or scooter please go with your row or by your number for autographs.
10) Q&A sessions start at the listed time and end at the listed time of the next stage activity.
11) If you plan on having alcohol during our party please note that the hotel bartenders will be carding and PLEASE DRINK RESPONSIBLY. Don’t ruin your convention by overdoing it!
12) We do not recommend buying tickets from anywhere but the Creation website or registration. All scannable tickets are checked and we can only allow the first one that goes through in. After that, copies will come up as previously scanned. As of late, there have been more nice fans being taken advantage of when they buy secondhand tickets: so please be careful as there is nothing we can do to help you if you have a secondhand ticket.
13) As with any ticketed event, we are not responsible for lost or misplaced tickets. We cannot replace autograph or photo op tickets that are purchased at the convention, so PLEASE make sure your tickets are kept in a safe and secure place. THANKS!
14) Please note that all expenditures at the convention for tickets, merchandise, photo ops, etc. will be done in American dollars and will be converted as such on your credit cards. Depending on the rate of exchange at the time your credit card processes, if you are not from America, the price(s) may vary.
15) Creation is dedicated to providing a safe and harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, age or religion. We firmly believe in the ideals of one of our mentors, Star Trek’s late and beloved creator, Gene Roddenberry. We do not tolerate harassment of any kind from anyone. Star Trek: Enterprise resulted in an amazing array of collectibles, from action figures to virtual trading cards. This fun presentation will showcase many rare and unusual collectibles from the earliest items which premiered before the show aired until today, which continues to see new collectibles being produced. Photographs and behind the scene stories, such as how Trek collectibles were actually featured in Enterprise episodes will be discussed!
